Outstanding 1914 $10 Red Seal in Superb Gem Condition
Fr. 893b $10 1914 Red Seal Federal Reserve Note PCGS Banknote
Superb Gem Unc 67 PPQ.An outstanding New York $10 Red Seal FRN in a high state of preservation with serial number B8214877A is in this lot. The embossing of the upper right serial number is very strong and we also observe natural paper wave on both sides of the note. Ideal inks and white paper are also observed on this high grade piece. PCGS Banknote has graded two Fr. 893b notes equal with none higher. A look at the PMG Population Report tells us that PMG has not graded a single example higher than 66 EPQ. We have auctioned the note in this lot twice before. The first time was in September 2008 and the second time was in April 2013. Since 2013 this $10 Red Seal has crossed over from a PCGS 67PPQ holder into a PCGS Banknote 67 PPQ holder. The Fr. 893b example in this lot is the first third party 67 PPQ/EPQ to be offered since 2021 when two different third party graded examples realized winning bids of $13,200 and $14,400.
