Description

One of Four Fr. 844* Stars Reported

Fr. 844* $5 1914 Federal Reserve Star Note PMG Choice Uncirculated 63 EPQ.
The 1914 $5 Federal Reserve Note features a portrait of Abraham Lincoln engraved by Charles Burt based on a photograph taken from life by Anthony Berger, a partner of Matthew Brady. It is a lovely example of this very rare $5 FRN star that is one of only four replacement notes reported for this Friedberg number in the Track & Price Census. It is a fresh and well embossed note that also bears a low three-digit serial number (A101*) as a bonus. This note brought $10,200 in a June 2023 public sale.
