Description

Bright Cleveland District 1914 $500 Federal Reserve Note

Fr. 1132-D $500 1918 Federal Reserve Note PCGS Apparent Extremely Fine 45.
This vivid $500 was last offered at auction in 2011, when it realized $12,650. One other Extremely Fine Cleveland district $500 exists, with that piece off the market since its last appearance at auction in 2002. No others compare to it either in terms of condition or eye appeal. This example has four jumbo sized margins, though one has been helped a bit by some professional restoration as seen at the top. However, the lack of significant folds along with paper that is bright and free of soiling allows this piece to face up as nicely as any of the 14 examples known for this Friedberg number.
