Description

Premium Condition 1914 $100 FRN

Fr. 1091 $100 1914 Federal Reserve Note PCGS Gem New 65PPQ.
The $100 design features a large profile portrait of Benjamin Franklin facing right engraved by Marcus Baldwin and an interesting back, originally intended for use on all of the new small size currency denominations, depicting Labor, Plenty, America, Peace, and Commerce drawn by Kenyon Cox and engraved by G.F. Smillie. At present, the census lists 133 Fr. 1091 notes and identifies this note as having the highest known grade. We last auctioned this note for $5,160 as part of our 2025 FUN U.S. Currency Signature Auction and believe that tonight's bidding will test or best that level.
