PCGS Gem New 65PPQ $100 Red Seal Fed
Fr. 1072a $100 1914 Red Seal Federal Reserve Note PCGS Gem New 65PPQ.This piece was last on the market in our January, 2004 sale, where we noted "Fewer than two dozen examples are known of this number, but unlike most rare notes, the majority of the pieces are uncirculated, coming from a single short run. This note is from that run, and like all the others, it's a simply super piece, with strong, original embossing, good margins, and ideal colors." Graded then as Gem Uncirculated, it is now housed in a PCGS Gem New 65PPQ holder, and is just as super today as it was seven years ago. With the last Gem New example (a 66) having sold in our Memphis sale for $57,500, expect this lovely note to easily reach and perhaps well exceed...
