Fr. 1068* $50 1914 Federal Reserve Star Note PMG Very Fine
20.We were the first auctioneer for this unique San Francisco $50 star FRN in May 2003. At that time, the second edition of The Comprehensive Catalog of United States Large Size Star Notes 1910 - 1929 by Doug Murray did not list a single serial number for Fr. 1068*. Serial number L528* in this lot remains unique 23 years later with the 2007 third and final edition of the Murray reference listing only it. Today, nothing has changed, as Track & Price list this star and no others for the Friedberg number. The last time this $50 star was publicly offered was at the Memphis International Paper Money Show auction in 2015 where it realized $14,100.
