Fr. 1043 $50 1914 Federal Reserve Note PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ.From our 2008 Central States auction, where it was cataloged: "Thirty-eight examples are listed in the Track & Price census, with this lovely note not among them. A small handful of Uncirculated examples is known, all of which come from the same serial-number run. This 'Exceptional Paper Quality' note is well outside that run, and it is the only uncirculated 1043 that can make the claim. We sold a PMG 66 from the known run in April of 2006 for $5,750. Two years later, with that note and this the only two graded above the 63 level, we would expect a far higher number." In five years the census has almost doubled though notes in this grade remain uncommon.
