Lovely Richmond Fifty Dollar Blue Seal
Fr. 1043 $50 1914 Federal Reserve Note PMG Gem Uncirculated 65
EPQ.Last on the market in a 1993 auction, this lovely example of a scarce Richmond $50 FRN is one of barely 100 pieces reported for this Friedberg number. It comes from a small run of uncirculated examples reported for this number. However, very few of that small group have enough margins to qualify for the Gem level, as evidenced by the fact that this is one of just two pieces assigned the 65 grade by PMG who have also graded just one note a single point finer. This is the first 65-graded piece to be publicly offered since the other PMG 65 EPQ note brought over $6,000 at auction in 2012.
