PMG 50 Cleveland District Fifty Dollar Red Seal
Fr. 1015b $50 1914 Red Seal Federal Reserve Note PMG About
Uncirculated 50.The second highest example graded at PMG. The 50 grade appears somewhat conservative and the reason for it cannot be spotted through the holder. We have little doubt but that it's a soft center fold. The centering is excellent and the colors of the paper and inks look like what one would expect to see on a note right off the press. A scarce number in all grades, with Track & Price indicating a total census of only 12 pieces. This will be the highest third party graded example to reach the auction block. The highest grade raw note to ever sell was a 65 which strangely shares the same serial number with this note, as does another raw 40 (cue the theme music to "Twilight Zone")...
