Description

The Finest Known Dallas Fr. 828 $20 FRBN

Fr. 828 $20 1915 Federal Reserve Bank Note PCGS Choice About New 58.
The first of three Friedberg numbers for this Dallas design with Fr. 828 being the number often chosen for type. Track & Price has documented a total of 48 notes and one of those examples calls the Smithsonian Institution home. Serial number K4878A in this lot was first recorded with the dispersal of The Amon Carter, Jr. Collection after his death in 1982. We first auctioned it at our January 2006 FUN auction. It has also earned the highest grade for this Friedberg number as it sits all alone at the top of the T&P listing, bar none. In January 2025, we auctioned serial number K4880A in PCGS XF 40 and it realized $4,560. The superior piece in the current lot should bring much more.
