Description

Highest Graded Dallas Fr. 819 $10 FRBN Without Equal

Fr. 819 $10 1915 Federal Reserve Bank Note PCGS Gem New 65.
We looked up Fr. 819 in Track & Price and found a recorded population of 55 for this Dallas $10 FRBN. A study of the serial numbers and other references found that two serials are beyond the pursuit of collectors as both K75897A and K105222A are locked away in the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City Collection. Serial K58323A in this lot sits all alone on top of the grade apex in Track & Price with the closest competition being two 63s that have not been heard from since one example crossed the auction block in 1993. Also, the highest grade in the PMG Population Report is a solitary 63. We first entertained the note in this lot at our January 1992 Winter auction followed by an encore at our January 2011 FUN auction. We graded it as Gem New in the pre-third party encapsulation days and it still exhibits embossing in the unprinted area at center on the back. We had a PMG 40 bring $4,320 in June 2021 and fell that this Gem 65 should easily attain five figures.
