Description

Finest Known Example

Fr. 816 $10 1915 Federal Reserve Bank Note PCGS Extremely Fine 40PPQ.
Kansas City $10 FRBNs are scarce, with only 54 examples recorded in the Track & Price census. This example is attractive, with bright paper retaining original surfaces and good colors. A tight top margin on the face is one of the factors accounting for the note's grade. Notes from this district are, nonetheless, difficult to come by in grades above Very Fine 30. Today, this note is the highest third party graded example in the census and would occupy the "top pop" position in the PMG Population Report were it to receive the corresponding grade from that service.
