High-Grade $2 Battleship Cut Sheet

Fr. 757 $2 1918 Federal Reserve Bank Notes Cut Sheet of Four PMG Graded.
A high-grade cut sheet from a long time collection that has never before appeared at auction. All four notes have been well taken care of and exhibit strong embossing of the right serial number, Treasury Seal, and other devices. The dark inks and white paper also have the look of being fresh off the printing press. This is not surprising, as paper money collector and Assistant Cashier Charles Bickford, who was also head of the Cash Department of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland at this time, was able to put aside low serial numbers. Today, we can thank Mr. Bickford for his foresight and adding to our hobby. The plate letter A note with serial number D437A grades Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ, both the B and C plate letter examples with serial numbers D438A and D439A grade Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ, and the plate letter D serial D440A piece weighs in at Choice Uncirculated 64 EPQ.
