Description

United States Treasury Artist's Rendition of Silver Certificate Denominations Ca. 1908-1909
A second grouping of artist drawn notes from the desk of Louis A. Coolidge. This group is similar in every aspect. The notes are hand drawn and include the basic design elements, yet only of the vignettes were used, likely to save time. Included in this grouping is an envelope with the following description:

Silver Certificates
$1, $2 $5, $10, $20, $50, $100

Currency collectors are familiar with each of these designs as they are basic outlines for the following notes:

Fr. 226a-229 $1 1899 Silver Certificate
Fr. 249-258 $2 1899 Silver Certificate
Fr. 271-281 $5 1899 Silver Certificate
Fr. 302-304 $10 1908 Silver Certificate
Fr. 317-320 $20 1891 Silver Certificate
Fr. 330-335 $50 1891 Silver Certificate
Fr. 343-344 $100 1891 Silver Certificate

The notes are hand drawn and were not assigned a numeric grade by PMG. Since condition is not of concern for these crisp pieces of art, there will be no returns for any reason. With ties to the Treasury during a specific administration, we expect much interest from bidders, but will offer them without estimate. (Total: 8 items)
