Comment Free PMG 15 Fr. 7
Fr. 7 $10 1861 Demand Note PMG Choice Fine 15.Forty-nine examples are recorded in Track & Price, but two pieces call the Smithsonian Institution and the San Francisco Federal Reserve Bank home. Our current offering is an evenly circulated Philadelphia example with dark signatures. Our examination finds that it is a solid representative for the grade. This statement is backed up by the fact that it resides in a comment free PMG holder. The $10 in this lot has only one previous auction appearance and that was when we offered it in August 2018 and it realized $5,160. Since then, 12 different third party graded Fr. 7 notes in all grades have gone under the gavel and every single example has had comments. Now, the last comment free Fr. 7 to be offered at auction returns to the auction block and it should do quite well as it combines rarity with quality for the grade.
Estimate: $5,000 - up.
