Attractive and Original Fr. 3 $5 Demand Note
Fr. 3 $5 1861 Demand Note PCGS Very Fine 20PPQ.A very respectable, well margined, boldly signed Boston District $5 Demand Note. Track & Price indicates 114 examples are known, but many of them are either low grade or have a litany of flaws. This offering, however, is a small miracle of survival in that with the amount of circulation it has no problems whatsoever and retains original surfaces. The paper used was thin and weak, and edge tears, holes, etc. are nearly ubiquitous on this type. A solid note that will certainly please its new owner.
