Fr. 3 $5 1861 Demand Note Extremely Fine. A lovely Boston Demand note with strong signatures, great eye appeal, and margins all the way around. The margins, in fact, are quite large all the way around, except for one small area around the top where it dips near the frameline, but does not touch it. The boldly printed back is beautifully centered and the note has the visual appeal of an XF or better piece. Even when Jim O'Neal purchased circulated notes, he had a great eye for quality. This is just such a note where the eye appeal far exceeds the technical grade. When that is the case, value generally far exceeds the technically expected price.Auction Info
