Fr. 2 Hessler 242C $5 1861 Demand Note Face Proof PCGS Banknote Extremely Fine 40 Details.A plate letter B payable in Philadelphia ABNCo Face Proof design is in this lot. It has a red ink 00000 serial number and "for the" is printed before the Treasury officials' offices. It is printed on India paper and mounted on cardstock. The four POCs were punched through the India paper, but not the cardstock. We previously auctioned it in April 2015 for $3,760 as part of The Eric P. Newman Collection. It has also resided in the Harry E. Jones and Caine Collections. It is damaged in the Treasurer's signature block, parts of the outside frame line around Freedom have been redrawn, and there are also a few splits and tears of varying lengths.
