Fr. 1328? (29?) Milton 3R50.14d 50¢ Third Issue Spinner Choice New. Signed by Spinner only. A very rare error that Tom O'Mara acquired as part of his purchase of the Doug Hales Collection. The note has all of its original embossing and is strictly uncirculated but the paper shows some aging at the edges. We're a little unsure of the census for errors of this type, and realize that darn rare is an inexact term, but it certainly applies here. The only other example we ever handled was the Milt Friedberg piece, which realized $4,400 on an estimate of $3,000-up nine years ago. In the O'Mara collection this piece was overlooked at just under $2,500.Auction Info
