Description
Fr. 1300 25¢ Third Issue PMG Very Fine 30.Distinguished by the fiber paper, "M-2-6-5" surcharges, heavy bronzing, and a design figure of "a" on the face and featuring a portrait of William Pitt Fessenden, former Secretary of the Treasury at center on the face, Fr. 1300 is one of the classic Fractional Currency rarities with only 57 examples listed in the latest Track & Price census. The brittle paper used by the BEP was susceptible to damage leaving many examples in poor condition. This fortunate piece is problem free despite its circulation.
Estimate: $1,500 - up.
