Description

Fr. 1291 Milton 3R25.1? 25¢ Third Issue Spinner Courtesy Autograph PCGS Choice About New 58.
There are four known Spinner courtesy autographs on Fessenden notes, all Red Backs, two Fr. 1291s and two 1292s. This is a new piece to the collecting community and is unlisted in Milt Friedberg's Encyclopedia and therefore has no Milton number. The only other 1291 has a dual signature of Spinner and Colby oriented horizontally on each end of the back. As the father of Fractional Currency, Spinner's signature on a Fractional note is the most significant Courtesy Autograph that can be acquired. His bold, distinctive handwriting covers a significant portion of the back. Interestingly, Friedberg, O'Mara and Ford all had a different example in each of their sales. This piece should fare well as all Fractional courtesy autographs are highly coveted. The third party grading service has noted "Minor Mounting Remnants on Back."
