Wonderful Fr. 1291 Block of Eight
Fr. 1291 25¢ Third Issue Uncut Block of Eight PMG About
Uncirculated 55 EPQ.The largest Fr. 1291 multiple to ever be included in our auctions. The far left column that contained the four Fr. 1292 notes with design figure "a" has been removed. Three margins are wide on this example and therefore a partial face plate number remains along the left edge. Also, the back reveals that its plate number is 1. The bronzing is bright on both sides. Each column of notes has a single vertical fold and these two untampered folds certainly helped solidify this block of eight, earning its EPQ grade modifier. Add in ideal color and embossing and you have a wonderful block of eight that was formerly part of the John J. Ford, Jr. Collection.
