Description

Bold Pink Fractional Currency Shield

Pink Fractional Currency Shield. An unusually nice example that is free of water stains, fully wide all the way to every edge and with the important background color, a far bolder pink than what we are accustomed to seeing. This is one of approximately two dozen Pink Shields known to exist, many of which are faded and/or damaged. It is clearly in the top 25% for both condition and color. The Red Backs have held their color very nicely and the only faded note is, as usual, the extremely light sensitive 25ยข Second Issue back. The Shield is in a heavy contemporary wood frame and is unmatted. As with virtually all pink and green Shields, all four hand-signed notes bear the Colby-Spinner signature combination, including the Grant-Sherman Fr. 1273SP which is found only on these colored Shields.
