Description

Fractional Currency Shield, With Gray Background. This shield has been enclosed in a modern frame and double-matted in beige and green with a carefully created inner mat. There is some water staining at both the top and bottom, but it is quite minor and effects only one or two notes in a small way. The notes on the whole are brighter than average, although the 25 Cent Second Issue back has turned blue as almost always, and the red backs are somewhat muted. The four hand-signed notes are all Jeffries-Spinner examples, as is typical for gray shields. The shield has several light folds, the boldest of which travels horizontally right below the two 10c Third Issue faces. This is a highly presentable example ready for hanging.
