Description
Fr. 1382 Fractional Currency Shield, With Gray Background. The frame, often referred to as original, is contemporary to the period of the shield, but in fact the shields were distributed unframed. This particular frame also has the original wood back made of thin, wide boards. Although this shield does show some water staining at the top, the flaw does not affect the notes, and the notes themselves are quite a bit brighter than on most shields. It's nicely matted but there are a few water stains at the left edge of the matt. Overall, a well above average shield ready for a home or office wall.Auction Info
