Description

F. E. Spinner Letter August 23, 1865.
A letter written by Spinner to a Mr. Preston King, Collector of Customs in New York. It is one page front and back and is endorsing a Mr. Henry Lieberman for a position in Mr. King's office. It also goes into Mr. Lieberman's political position, how he "otherwise aided in the subjugation of the Rebels," and how he used his influence against Mr. Seymore at the last election. Fully intact with a hard center fold, but no separation is noted. It is printed on Treasury Department letterhead and Spinner's signature is bold with some bleed through to the face but no erosion is present.
