Fr. 1322 Milton 2R50.9b 50¢ Second Issue Entire Back Inverted About New. Unique to our best knowledge. One must always be a bit suspicious of Second Issue Fiber Paper notes with totally Inverted Backs, as the notes are printed on two pieces of paper that were mounted together prior to the printings taking place. Notes can be (and have been) soaked apart and remounted to create both Inverts and Double Denominations. While their initial appearance can be deceiving, the deception becomes quickly apparent upon closer inspection. Edges need to be re-trimmed, the note develops an unnatural stiff feel from re-gluing, it does not transmit light properly when candled, and it lacks its embossing. This piece, which was from the Tom O'Mara Collection, is genuine beyond question.Auction Info
