Description
50¢ Second Issue Experimental Fiber Paper Face PCGS Very Choice New 64PPQ.An important Experimental in very high grade. This particular note has several things making it more important than your average Experimental. It is a much rarer face on heavy fiber paper with a bold two line offset of the face onto the back and a partial contemporary inscription on the face. Written up-side-down to the printing are two undecipherable words and the clear date December 1, 1863. PCGS has mentioned both the offset error and the contemporary inscription on the holder. Hard to value on the current market for better experimentals, but 25 years ago this would have been a $2,000 item.
