Description

Fr. 1296 25¢ Third Issue PMG Uncirculated 62 EPQ.
This is the rare variety with the extremely larger "a" (7mm) to the lower right of its normal position. There were 90 face plates used for this issue, but this unusual size and placement occurred only on plate #144. When Milt Friedberg's Encyclopedia was published in 1978, only three pieces were known, however, the current count is more than a dozen. This piece is bright, with reflective bronze, deep original embossing, and a near perfectly centered back. A gorgeous and very rare note.
