Third In This Set of Four
Milton 2E25?.? 25¢ First Issue PCGS Choice New 63PPQ.When we last offered this 25¢ Proof in 2013, it was described: "This is the second note in the set with the 5¢ and 50¢ that were die sunk directly onto a soft cardstock much like the Bristol Board proofs. The same configuration as the 5¢, except it is cancelled with two perfectly round holes in the top corners. It has a "3" in pencil on the back possibly denoting it as part of a four note set, three of which are in this sale and one, the 10¢ possibly the O'Mara note. Part of this intriguing set of notes that will excite advanced collectors and warrants more discussion and research." In this sale, it is the third note of the complete four-note set. Lot 20231 is the 5¢ piece, Lot 20241 is the 10¢ piece, and Lot 20254 is the 50¢ example.
