Fr. 1228 5¢ First Issue PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ.A pristine example of this First Issue Fractional, this note possesses rich brown inks, deep perforations on all sides, and an intense yellow hue that rarely is seen but on the highest quality pieces. In our Central States sale, we sold a PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ for $2,640. That note possessed neither the broad margins nor exceptional centering wielded by tonight's offering. In our Long Beach sale, a PCGS Gem New 65PPQ sold for $900. A single Superb Gem New 67 EPQ has been graded by PMG.
