Rare High-Grade Fr. 265
Fr. 265 $5 1886 Silver Certificate Extremely Fine-About New. A gorgeous Silver Dollar Back with the look of a Choice New example. The note has three extremely light folds that can be seen only when the note is very carefully manipulated in the light. Fr. 265 is the scarcest of the Silver Dollar Backs, edging out Fr. 259 by a small margin (31 vs. 34). This piece is one of the finer known examples with only five Uncirculated pieces listed by Track & Price--none of which have been graded. We rather suspect that this piece compares favorably with several of them.Auction Info
