Description

Boldly Inked Inverted Partial Back Impressions

Non-Standard Multiple Impressions of Back to Front Error Fr. 1921-A $1 1995 Federal Reserve Note. PMG Choice Extremely Fine 45 EPQ.
A rare non-standard multiple impressions error in which the extra printings are at an angle, inverted in relationship to the original design, and also, the multiple impressions are on the wrong side of the note. The error Boston $1 in this lot exhibits two boldly inked inverted partial back impressions of varying widths on the front. We have offered only a few errors of this type on the $1 denomination over the years. In fact, the last example that we offered was a Fr. 1975-L $5 1977A FRN that graded PMG 40 and realized $8,400 on a $5,000 and up estimate in May 2023.
