Complete Multiple Impression of Back on Face Error
Fr. 2027-E $10 1985 Federal Reserve Note. PCGS Extremely Fine 40.An intriguing error which bears two distinct first printings. The backs are printed first at the BEP. This note displays two backs with two distinct plate numbers. Back Plate 536 with back print only and Back Plate 534 on which the second printing has also been applied. The complete multiple impression of a back on face as it is now is the rarest multiple impression known. According to Stephen M. Sullivan, most examples of this error exhibit the same Back Plate number which is not the case here though they are close. This is the first opportunity we have had to offer this elusive error type.
