Fr. 271 $5 1899 Silver Certificate Inverted Back Very Good, Damaged. A rare Inverted Back Chief, one of only ten known for this number, and one of only about two dozen Chiefs for all numbers combined. The note is Very Good from the standpoint of wear, but it has two areas of scotch-tape repairs and a few edge splits. Likely to bring a solid four-figure price in spite of its problems, as Inverted Back Chiefs are seldom available in any condition. Only three of the twenty-some known pieces grade Extremely Fine or better.Auction Info
