Missing Magnetic Ink Error Fr. 2173-I $100 1990 Federal Reserve Note. PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ.An insufficient inking error is observed on this Minneapolis $100 that has a distinctive checkerboard pattern of missing magnetic ink. Each denomination has a different pattern of magnetic ink. This C-note is a beautiful Gem with paper originality. This error is only found on the face and with FRNs dated Series 1988A and later. We had the same type of error on a $100 that is only one serial number removed from our current offering and it also graded PMG 65 EPQ. It brought $1,080 in January, 2019.
