HB-49 EP-6a 1¢ Joseph L. Bates About New. An exceptionally high-grade example of the second most common of the Bates pieces. This is the variety with "FANCYGOODS" as one word. The case is essentially Uncirculated and a nice medium-brass color. The stamp is fully fresh, and the mica only exhibits a very minor surface disturbance.
