Description
HB-135 EP-148 12¢ J. Gault About New. This is the most common Twelve Cent encasement. Reed rates it as an R-4, indicating 31 to 40 pieces known, which may be a tad on the high side, but there are certainly close to 30. In any event, this is an extraordinarily nice one--finer than any of the three in the Mayer Collection, which we sold last Fall. The case is a medium olive-brass and absolutely problem-free. The stamp is fresh and the mica is as perfect as these ever come.Auction Info
