T39 $100 1862 PF-5 Cr. 290 PCGS Banknote Choice Unc 64.This note exhibits plate state I, with clouds clearly present over the train, and also exhibits a very clear period after the Af plate letter combination (Af.). Based on the note's pristine condition and three Augusta, GA, IP stamps on the back paying interest to the three standard interest payment dates that occurred during the war, it is likely that this note never saw actual time in circulation, but rather served as part of a bank's cash reserves or as an investment by either an institution or wealthy individual.
