Description

Hoyer & Ludwig - First Day of Issue

T39 $100 1862 PF-2 Cr. UNL Extremely Fine-About Uncirculated.
Notes printed by Hoyer & Ludwig were only issued from May 5-9, 1862. Only four hundred sheets were issued on May 5. This note has three stamped IP annotations on the back including a better one from Columbus, MS, and also has a red date (9-12-62) stamped on the face. The date is believed to be when the note was examined to determine if it was a counterfeit (it is not). This example has a small stamp hinge adhered to the upper left corner which can easily be removed if desired but otherwise shows only minimal handling.
