T7 $100 1861. This type that features a vignette of Ceres and Prosperina in the center and a portrait of George Washington in the lower-left corner is almost unheard of in high grades. This piece is a remarkable exception, as the paper quality is disarmingly beautiful with no mentionable flaws whatsoever. The margins are a little tight and are trimmed very slightly into the design in areas, but this is somewhat trivial considering the overall appearance. By far the nicest example of this rare type that we have ever seen, this Crisp Uncirculated example would impress even the most novice collector. Notes like this are nearly impossible to estimate, as spirited bidding is nearly certain to ensue any time a high grade Confederate rarity is offered, and we wouldn't be at all surprised if this note hammered far above our perhaps conservative estimate of. . .
