Description

T6 $50 1861.
These engraved notes along with T5s were printed by the Southern Bank Note Company. They were ordered in May 1861 through the ABNCo branch in New Orleans. The parent company had issued orders not to aid the South, therefore managing partner Samuel Schmidt came up with the Southern Bank Note Company name. Needless to say not very many people were fooled. Good.
