T32 $5 1861 PF-2 Cr. 249 PMG Very Fine 25.Leggett, Keatinge & Ball repurposed a plate donated by the Farmers and Mechanics Bank to print this note. The plate carried the bank's previous name, which had changed in December 1859, and was therefore of no use to the bank at the time it was donated. Only 20,333 notes were issued before production was inexplicably stopped. Aside from the orange 5-FIVE-V protector which is a bit faded, this note is free of repairs and meaningful impairments and is fully framed.
