Description

T24 $10 1861. The child on this note at lower right is actually a portrait of Rev. Dr. Alfred L. Elwyn as a child. Elwyn was, ironically, an ardent Philadelphia abolitionist. Apparently, the printers had this vignette available and did not realize its source. Extremely Fine, not quite the equal of the prior note but still unusually nice for this beautiful and scarce type.
