Description

T23 $10 1861. This popular type features a vignette of a wagon hauling cotton in the center and a portrait of John Elliott Ward, whose claims to fame were his service as the Speaker of the Georgia House of Representatives in 1853-54 and as the U.S. Minister to China in from 1858-60, at left. It is a rare note in all grades, and survivors are apt to have problems. This piece from the Kennedy type set is an absolutely wonderful Fine-Very Fine with no flaws whatsoever, and with claims to the higher grade. Likely to see spirited bidding before the hammer falls.
