Description
Rare C Plate T22 with EPQ Accolade
T22 $10 1861 PF-2 Cr. 152 PMG Very Fine 30 EPQ.Similar to the other T22 which we are also offering in this auction, the note presented here is a conditional scarcity. Besides a vivid red-orange protector on the face, boldly handwritten serial numbers and signatures, and bright white, completely original paper surfaces, the note bears a nearly full frame. These attributes have earned this lovely piece the Exceptional Paper Quality designation from PMG, a very tough accolade to achieve for the type. Our current offering also showcases the tougher C plate letter. T22 $10s with the C plate were printed on a sheet including a A plate T15, A plate T19, and C plate T31. In January 2025, we auctioned another PMG VF 30 EPQ certified example which did not bear the C plate. That note brought $2,640. We would expect this beauty to attain a similar, if not greater, figure.
