Description

Bright and Colorful T15 $50

T15 $50 1861 PF-1 Cr. 79 PMG Very Fine 25.
Excellent color adorns this uncancelled T15 in a comment free holder. The paper is sound and evenly circulated on this note printed by the Southern Bank Note Company, which was the nom de guerre of the branch of the ABNCo in New Orleans. SBNCo did not last long, as Union forces commanded by Major General Benjamin Butler shut them down in the spring of 1862. The design elements are typical of the quality work performed by the ABNCo.
