T15 $50 1861 PF-1 Cr. 79 PMG Choice Fine 15 Net.Printed by Southern Bank Note Co. (a "front name" used by the New Orleans branch of the ABNCo), this note was part of a $5-$10-$20-$50 sheet. 14,860 notes of each denomination were issued between January 8, 1862 and May 15, 1862 before production was permanently terminated when New Orleans fell to a Union naval task force at the end of April 1862. This note was redeemed and originally had two cut out cancels in the signatures that have been restored.
