Description

T10 $10 1861 PF-20 Cr. 37 PMG Very Fine 20.
This $10 was part of the first emission to be printed by Hoyer & Ludwig. Just under 171,000 notes were issued between July 25 and November 2, 1861. The note features a vignette of Liberty seated by an eagle and a shield depicting the Confederate national flag, with a vignette of Hope at left. This variety has for printed above Treasr, a small 10 counter at upper left, and is printed on bank note paper. It should be noted that the upper left obligation shows the bottom of the "y" in "payment" cut off so that it looks like "pavment."
