Description

CTXX-1/C2 $20 1861 Female Riding Deer Bogus Note PMG Very Fine 25.
The Female Riding Deer fantasy piece in this lot was produced after the war by H. Toney and Al E. Bonsall who marketed notes such as our current offering as wartime productions. Though technically "Postwar Copies," as George Tremmel states in his reference, they are quite popular today. This note is printed on watermarked paper. The "OND" of "BOND" appears vertically at immediate right of the upper left "XX" die counter.

Estimate: $275 - up.
